Looking for instructions on setting up your trap? You came to the right place! Remember to watch our set up video and read all of our pointers we've listed below so you can achieve the best results!

How to set up:

Firstly, unscrew the cap so the container is detached. Now pop the centerpiece through the screwable disk until you hear 3 clicks. After this push the thinner disk on top of the centerpiece until it locks and looks like the image below.

Secondly, fill the container half full with bait/fly attractant and stir with the mixer provided so all ingredients mix together. Nasty but necessary!

NOTE: THE BAIT MUST BE SMELLY AND MOIST.
If the bait is dry and odorless then flies will not be drawn away from your animals to the trap. The nastier smell of the bait, the better!

Many of our best results use 'DIY' or homemade bait recipes and have amazing results!
Try a few of these so you can see similar results:

  • Wet cat food mixed with warm water and beer
  • 2 or more eggs mixed with warm water
  • Rotten fish or meat mixed with water, beer or milk
  • ''Bad'', or turned milk, filled to halfway of container
  • Rotting meat or fish. Anchovies and shellfish are very effective!
  • Feeling creative? Mix 65% powdered egg or 2 raw eggs with 25% yeast, 15% sodium bicarbonate, and mix with water to create a thick solution. Leave it for a couple of days to let it become nice and stinky!

Thirdly, screw the lid back on to the container and hang trap (using the wire provided) somewhere that is in a sunlit area and is close to your fly-infested area. If you have a few, try to hang them in different areas of your property so they can focus on specific areas.

For best results: Try to hang the trap 5ft or less from the ground. Hanging higher than this may limit the effectiveness of your trap.

That's it! Now sit back, and monitor the effectiveness of your fly traps. Let the bait turn bad and leave it for a few days.

Fly activity and behaviors can vary massively from property to property, so if you don't get results right away with a specific bait or hanging spot then be sure to switch it up!
